Starting this month, a competitive showdown weekend will begin where teams battle it out for the glory of the God of Thunder. Thor's Challenge is a monthly open event weekend (anyone can join - even casual players). It is curated with you and your team's in-game growth in mind (almost like a mini bootcamp), culminating in a showdown vs other DI teams, with an experience similar to what you will find at a real life LAN tournament.

    Thor's Challenge weekend includes:

     + Tournaments 5558dfdf7c71941a31ef19afe3e65da8.png

Whilst at the same time giving you tons of exposure through our dec2fa3aa146507b5e281b3903328dea.png (we average 200-300+ viewers for competitive streams)

AFU.png.5fb1412e0a31634597ed2f0cf14e0074AFU designed Thor’s Challenge to offer a tailored training experience to competitive teams in DI

It is no small feat to focus an entire weekend on your development and performance as a team while competing and being streamed. We want to offer you this possibility before you are confronted with it. Not many teams have the possibility to practice - and this will help you to perform at your best when representing DI.

    Mjölnir Achievement:

To be eligible for the achievement, participation in the entire weekend is required.

Mjölnir is the hammer of Thor, the Norse god of thunder and is said to be one of the most fearsome and powerful weapons in existence, capable of leveling mountains. The hammer was forged by the dwarven brothers Eitri and Brokkr who to Thor that he may smite as hard as he desired, whatsoever might be before him, and the hammer would not fail; and if he threw it at anything, it would never miss, and never fly so far as not to return to his hand; and if be desired, he might keep it in his sark, it is so small.

    FAQ

    - Can cross-division teams participate? My team has members from 2+ Divisions?

    Yes! and you should!

    - How does Thor's Challenge relate to Valhalla League?

Valhalla League teams will be selected from teams who regularly participate in Thor's Challenge and Fight Night. We are looking for teams who don't just talk "about getting good", but actually invest time "to get good".

    - Does it have to be my Primary Game or enter in more than one team?

Nope! Anyone can register for any game - although only ONE entry is allowed. Eg. You cannot play for Rocket League AND League of Legends. So choose wisely!

Feel free to ask any questions

I haven't completed any fight night matches as of yet and need 4. Can I just find these in the calendar?

Hi Speedy! To compete in Fight Night you will need a team. Once you have one your team captain can challenge other Fight Night teams and you can play in events either weekly hosted by the AFU, or one in your team can host them as well. Even someoen from the opposing team can host them on the Fight Night Calendar.

When will we know the schedule for Saturday's tournament? I would love to participate with my team, but due to work/school schedules I am not sure if we are able to participate.

When you register you register for the entire weekend. As you can see the Saturday tournament influences the Sunday tournament.

Yep, I understand that if we sign up it's for the entire event. Which is why I asked when the schedule will be made public. Will this be after all sign-ups have been collected, or can I expect this earlier? Depending on what times we will be playing we either can or cannot play. If it's possible to know the scheduled times beforehand that would help our team tremendously. If not, we won't be able to sign up at all as we don't want to risk not being able to participate!

with the current date, what do we do if we can only fit 3 fight nights in officially? as my team will only have started fight night this coming week, is there a way we can get an extra fight night in on one of those weeks? if so, how do we do that? <3

The problem with scheduling first before teams have signed up that we just can not know which games will happen adn which games not. There are requirements for a game that it will happen.  But as soon a game is eligble for th weekend we will add the scheduling for it. Working out a complete scheduling for everygame without to know if it will happen would make no sense.

Regarding to Fight night rules you are able to host your own matches on the Fight Night Calendar. Means there is more then enough time to get this 4 Fight Night matches

This sounds exciting! Is there any way the repertoire of games in the tournament will be expanded?

For sure - once games are big enough we expand our competitive offers to those, too. That means coaching/FN, then TC, and lastly Valhalla. Starting small, ending big ;)
